What Does £10,000 Buy On UK TV In 2026?
More than 200 UK advertisers spent under £10,000 on TV last year. What that budget really buys in 2026, where it goes furthest, and where it is wasted.

Ten thousand pounds sounds small for television. But more than 200 UK advertisers spent less than that on TV in the whole of 2025, according to Thinkbox. The question isn’t whether £10,000 can buy TV. It’s whether it can buy enough of the right audience in one place to make a difference.
What £10,000 buys nationally
On ITV1, a thousand adult impacts averaged about £14.32 from January to August 2026. £10,000 therefore buys roughly 700,000 adult impacts nationally at average market price. Spread across the whole UK, that is a thin presence most people won’t notice. A national buy is usually the wrong use of this budget.
What it buys in one region
Regional prices vary a lot (2026 regional prices). At average 2026 rates, £10,000 buys roughly:
- about 1.2 million adult impacts in UTV (Ulster), at £8.32 per thousand
- about 940,000 in Border, at £10.63
- about 820,000 in Granada or Yorkshire, at about £12.20
- about 450,000 in London, at £22.30
Concentrated in one region, the same money builds real frequency among people who can actually buy from you.
£10,000 spread nationally is a whisper. £10,000 in the right region can be a conversation.
Other ways to spend it
- Sky AdSmart shows your ad only to chosen households or postcodes, bought per thousand impressions. It suits a business with a defined catchment.
- BVOD on ITVX, Channel 4 or 5 lets you target by region and audience and is bought in smaller amounts.
- A mix: a short regional linear burst for reach, with streaming in the same area for frequency.
Don’t forget production
The ad itself is a separate cost. Free and low-cost tools now exist: ITV’s AI ad builder put 16 new-to-TV advertisers on air in its first year. Keep the creative simple and spend the money on enough airtime to be seen.
Where £10,000 is wasted
- One week of spots and nothing after it
- National coverage when your customers are in one area
- No way of measuring what happened
- Packages that don’t say where or when the ads will run
